Sungei Boloh Trip

We were going to Sungei Boloh, so I arrived at school worrying about looking weird because I was clad in my green house t-shirt and jeans! I was so worried, I got my dad to drop me off on the left side of the road and took a long route to the staff room to avoid meeting too many people. I wanted to confirm with Mr. Pang if he really wanted us to dress that way for assembly. He really did. Reluctantly, I proceeded to the basketball court, and oh SURPRISE! Guess what? Everyone in my class (well, nearly) was dressed just like me, so there was really nothing to worry about in the first place. I got to sit right in front of CES during silent reading! Yay. CES looked great in that green cargo pants because it was quite baggy.
We took the bus to Sungei Boloh, just talked along the way... Boring... Fortunately, the bus ride wasn't very long and we arrived in no time.
Since it was my 3rd trip to Sungei Boloh (but only the 2nd one that I could remember details about), I knew the place and the habitats pretty well. I was surprised that although the route we took was the same, the guide pointed out different things to us. That shows why you can never stop learning!
I would say we were very lucky, because we had a chance to come up close with a giant monitor lizard (in fact, I nearly bumped into it)! I was walking on one side of the path, and because I was in front, there was no one to stop me. Walking along, I heard mumbles of "Whoa", "Oh My Gawd", "Cool", and all of a sudden, "Laura, FREEZE!" I froze. Then I looked. Whoa, oh my gawd, cool, Laura FREEZE! They were certainly relavant. Right before my eyes was a GIANT MONITOR LIZARD, about a metre long and 30cm wide, crawling ever so slowly, so I pounced upon the wonderful opportunity and snapped 29 shots of it in total. If you ask me now, I would say it was seriously posing for the camera, swinging its tail and all. Swell...
Another highlight of the trip was sighting the giant caterpillar of the atlas moth. It was about the length of two of my fingers plus my palm and the width of the same two fingers. Big right? =)
When we got back to school I was crawling around, trying to help Denise find as many beads as possible because she spilt the whole bottle on the floor. All of a sudden, I heard CES say, "Hey Laura! You're famous! Look this Dual Master Card has your name on it!" Lame. Seriously, I KNOW it (sorry, I'm just bad at pronouns JKJK) doesn't like me. Its just that the things that happen appear to be so to SOME people. More about this in another post...
Anyway, after a while, Mrs O walked into the classroom and gave the motion for tomorrows debate for the 3rd and 4th placing, which we would definitely be taking part in. It was, "This House Does Not Support Blogging." Haha. Seriously. I had always thought I liked debate until I experienced the true pains of being part of a debate team-lots of work is involved. What cheered me up was also the fact that CES is part of the 6K debate team. Well, readers of this blog, I invited you to come read this to share with you my thoughts & feelings, and of course with the intention to tell you some secrets like who CES really is. In fact, I've already given you such an OBVIOUS clue! Just keep *HUSH* about these things ok? =) Tell you some more clues in the other post too.
Right after I got the motion, I received an SMS from my dad, saying he was already waiting for me, but it was only 1.10pm! Then CLS called me and some others over to 6L, and I found myself beside CES. CLS asked CES about its survey form and travel declaration form, and it said, "My survey form hasn't been filled up and I lost my travel declaration form." WHICH WAS EXACTLY WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME! What's more, that wasn't the first time. CLS had previously asked for our graduation forms, and both of us didn't receive it. This SO is the wrong kind of 'yuan fen'! When CES left and I was the only one with CLS, I told her I needed to go early so she brought me to the staff room for the form and let me off.
I'm a lazy bum. Right now, I'm supposed to be preparing for the debate, but what am I doing? Writing long essays about my life. Seriously, most other debate team members couldn't care less about it, so why should I? =) Ouch. I think the laptop has burnt my leg. Haha. Bye! Look out for the other post about CES!
